Although there are several major molecular
imaging meetings each year in USA, Europe
and Japan, there is a strong desire for a
novel meeting, held in an intimate setting,
that focuses specifically on translational
sciences from bench to bedside, in China. In
response to this need and the future
development of molecular imaging in China,
Zheijiang University has launched this
initiative to establish the annual
conference platform---Hangzhou International
Molecular Imaging Conference (HIMIC) from
2005. HIMIC features presentations and
lectures on the latest multidisciplinary
research from selected theme-based
translational and clinical abstracts, as
well as related educational sessions. As
such, HIMIC
offers an opportunity for clinically
relevant in-depth discussions of today’s
molecular imaging, which will impact
diagnosis and treatment now and in the near
future.
Since the first HIMIC meeting held in 2005,
it has received active supports worldwide,
including those from Roswell Park Cancer
Institute (USA), Institute of High Energy
Physics (IHEP) of CAS, Zhejiang Provincical
Science Foundation, and Hamamatsu Photonics
K.K., as well as the researchers from USA,
Europe, Japan and China. The past twice
HIMIC meetings separately focused on the
oncology and small animal molecular imaging.
The 2007 HIMIC meeting will provide an
opportunity for the researchers from
molecular imaging, nuclear medicine,
radiology, neurology, neurosurgery and
radiopharmeutics, to meet in a small,
intimate forum for the discussion of the
molecular imaging in neurology. Furthermore,
the 2007 HIMIC has especially invited famous
experts from Japan and Korea to share their
experience with our Chinese colleagues.
Prof. June-Key CHUNG, President of Korean
Society of Molecular Imaging and Prof.
Yasuhisa FUJIBAYASHI, President of Japanese
Society for Molecular Imaging, particularly
come to Hangzhou to give speeches and also
discuss the development of molecular imaging
in China.
The 2007 HIMIC meeting provides an
excellent opportunity for translational
research and education regarding the most
cutting-edge scientific research of
molecular imaging in neurology in addition
to providing attendees the ability to
thoughtfully reflect, interact, and react to
the content presented. Please review this
proceedings to learn more about this special
event. Thank you for joining us.
Sincerely,
Suzhan ZHANG, MD,
Chairman, Organizing Committee
On behalf of The 3rd Hangzhou International
Molecular Imaging Conference |
